I showed my try out posters to karl and he told me that I should try and split the poster into thirds to make a more comprehendible poster so I experimented in different ways of presenting the elements that I already have.
I need to decided that the lighter colour in the background is better so that the figures can become more obvious. I also like the white band at the bottom of the page as it makes the stat stand out more.
During my tutorial with Clair she told me that she preferred the previous pattern that i had made, and i agree due to the more detail in the clothing. She then explained how to create a pattern on illustrator by adding a swatch which made it easer for me to create an idea of what my poster could start to look like.
I took colour inspiration from the kings of convenience as I thought the colours worked well together as they are quite contrasting in tone.
Experimenting using hand drawn elements and illustrator I played around with ways of creating the poster and sticker. I would like to experiment more with a different colour pallet and maybe add the Facebook with teeth Symbol to create a more together poster. I will also look at posters that where effective for inspiration. I will also look into stickers and how to print onto stickers.
looking at different patters i wanted to see how i could improve on my pattern and i concluded that maybe i should add more colour and maybe more detail. I spoke to Elaine and have booked a screen printing session next Monday so I can decide my final idea by then. using screen print means that i will have no tonal elements and limited colours so I need to keep this in mind when finalising my idea.
I created a pattern made of people looking down and i want to take this further for my end poster and stickers. However I struggled, due to my not knowing how to operate illustrator properly, in creating the pattern, and making it look continuous. I also think that I need to add colour for it to be more eye-catching.
I thought a good way of combining the tree ideas that i have would be to use info graphics so I tried to combine the three ideas i have using the same style. I looked at Olli Bird’s illustrations :http://ollibird.com/projects/ as inspiration for the illustrations, and edited them on illustrator.
